LPL Photography: An Overview
Welcome To My Photography Portfolio.
Well, after years of having a website which cost over $100 a year to maintain, I've decided to move my content from that site to here (Blogger). Since photography has always been more of a hobby than a source of revenue for me, it didn't make much sense to continue to pay for website features that I never used. And now that 2023 has arrived, it seemed like a good time to make a change.
I started my photography "career" way back in 2007. I was an enthusiastic amateur then, and while I have learned much over the years, I remain somewhat of a novice still, learning more all the time. These days, however, I tend to spend more of time using my gopro to make hiking videos instead of shooting with my dslr. Be that as it may, I still do portrait photography when I get the chance. I love the artistic possibilities that a camera can create. My main area of interest has always been portrait and modeling photography, in short, people photography. The main reason I chose this area as my starting point was because I found it a very technically difficult thing to do, something that had a steep learning curve. People are complex things and being able to capture their different looks or modes is fun and rewarding. There is so much more involved than pressing a button. This style of photography would allow me to develop the fundamental and necessary skills needed in order to become a decent photographer. By photographing people, I knew I would get the widest range of photographic experience possible and thereby hone my skills as best I could.
This gallery contains samples of my work gathered over a 10 year time span. In the mid-2000's I was a member of the Northwest Arkansas Photographic Society (PSNWA). It was (and still is) a great organization now located in Bentonville, AR. I learned so much during my time there and I am grateful for the opportunity to have work with its many talented and knowledgeable members.
There will be more photos added to this gallery in coming months, so please feel free to check them out at a later date. Until next time.
